address the need for well-trained research economists in the private and
public sectors, our PhD program features a focus on applied work including
econometric, empirical, and data techniques.

PhD Program Admission Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics
- Minimum A- (80%, first class) average in MA degree
- Three academic letters of reference
- Statement of research interest
- Proof of competency in English may be required
Application Deadline
- Deadline is February 1. (No early decisions will be made)
- Admission is only for September of each year
- Admission is based on academic potential and the match of the applicant’s
research interests to faculty strengths. A supervisor is not required at this
stage
